
An annual working adventure, traveling to an isolated Carribean beach where volunteers construct secure nurseries and make nightly patrols for turtle eggs. With a safe place for the eggs to develop, the odds of survival are drastically increased. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the lives of these magnificent reptiles.
By special arrangement with usually a 7-10 day commitment.

Dates: January & February 2010
Rendezvous: San Jose, Costa Rica
You Need: Appropriate clothing, rain gear, sunscreen, personal health products.
We Provide: You will lodge in a dormitory style beach cabin that sleeps up to 6 people. Local meals three times a day & there is tea and coffee. We have our own fresh water source. We cater to vegetarians too.
A complete itinerary and clothing list is sent upon registration or formal request.
Trip Leader: Seth A. Heuiser, originally from Wisconsin, is a travel and service enthusiast. Seth has adventured across the globe through his work with various nonprofit/NGOs. As a volunteer and as a trip leader, he has served tsunami & hurricane victims, orphans, school children, and more. He is an veteran instructor of outdoor education and is a wilderness EMT. Seth is the volunteer coordinator at a Leatherback Sea Turtle Reserve. He is highly skilled in the language and customs having spent several seasons on the reserve.
